The Epidemiology and Biostatistics Program of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) conducted a case-controlled study of breast cancer in Poland [contracts N01-CP-91013, N02-CP-11003.] As part of this study, used vacuum cleaner bags were collected from 1,611 study participants. TDI-BI is responsible for receiving the vacuum-cleaner bags and sieving the entire contents through a 140-150 um stainless steel sieve to separate the dust into fine and coarse fractions.
