TDI-Brooks effectively and securely completed another Geotechnical Core Acquisition program offshore New York. A total of thirty-seven (37) shallow water (<75-m) pneumatic vibracores (pVC) were conducted at 22 specified locations within areas that had not been previously sampled in prior investigations. The surface deposits in the lease area and along the Export Cable Corridor (ECC) mainly consist of Holocene Marine sands and Holocene transgressive deposits. The newly designed pneumatic vibracorer (pVC) by TDI-Brooks, which features 3.75″ diameter cores, proved to be well-suited for these soil conditions. The pVC has been successfully deployed over 200 times on the US East Coast for offshore wind farm (OSWF) projects. Furthermore, TDI-Brooks’ vessels also offer other coring tools such as a 2,000-lb, 6-meter piston core specifically designed for softer soils. The execution of this program was carried out using the Brooks McCall vessel.
